Certification Description
NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA) The expert certification (NACE) has been replaced by NCDA. The curriculum that supports NCDA is an updated version of the NACE curriculum. If you earned the NACE Certification on or after January 1st, 2006 you are being grandfathered and are entitled to use the new NCDA credentials. There is no further action required on your behalf. NCDA is not a pre-requisite for the NCSA, NCIE or NCSE certifications.

As a NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator, you will have proven skills in performing in-depth support, administrative functions, and performance management for CIFS, NFS, and FCP for SCSI or iSCSI for TCP/IP protocols on a NetApp storage appliance running the Data ONTAP operating system in NFS and Windows (CIFS) multiprotocol environments. You will also be able to implement Clustered Failover and SyncMirror to ensure continuous data availability and rapid recovery of data in the event of a disaster, and use the SnapMirror, SnapRestore, and SnapVault products to manage and protect mission-critical data.
NetApp Certified Solution Architect (NCSA) The NCSA Certification is designed for Pre-Sales SE's. The Accredited Storage Architect Program (ASAP) is a pre-requisite for the NCSA certification for internal SEs and Channel Partner SEs only. There are currently three specializations, or disciplines, that someone can earn to become a NCSA:

NCSA-SAN (Certified SAN Solution Architect)
NCSA- B&R (Certified Back-up and Restore Architect) 
NCSA-BC (NetApp Business Continuance Solution Architect) 
NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE) The NCIE Certification is designed for Post-Sales PS Engineers and there are no pre-requisites for this certification. The NCIE (NetApp SAN Implementation Engineer) certification will confirm you have proven skills in: implementing customer storage requirements, implementing Fibre Channel and iSCSI SAN solutions, and integrating different operating systems and applications such as MS Exchange, MS SQL, DB2, and Oracle.
